I released a new album! It’s a cello tribute to the excellent Welsh band The Joy Formidable. You can listen/buy it at Bandcamp now, and it will be up on iTunes, etc. in a few days. Click through the image to listen.

Holy crap, I can’t believe I forgot that today marks the release of Robert Pollard’s band Boston Spaceships’s new epic double-LP, Let It Beard. I am honored to have contributed cello to one of the tracks (“Red Bodies”)! Other guests include J. Mascis and Colin Newman from Wire (!!!). Get it on Amazon MP3 for $8.

We’re very excited to play with our friends Hammer No More The Fingers and Brice Randall Bickford (formerly The Strugglers) next Thursday at the Black Cat! Even better, this particular show will be a cello-fest, as each band features a different cellist (Hammer = Leah Gibson, and B.R.B. = Emily Wright).

Clearly this show is not to be missed! (unless you hate cellos)

I’ve decided to run a summer special on cello recording… $100 for cello tracks on your song (normally $150), or $250 for a full-on cello cover of your song or someone else’s (normally $500).
