OK, ok, ok. Gordon will be happy that someone else is posting something.

Just wanted to write a quick note to thank everyone that came out to BiMA fest to see us play. We were on a great bill and a video of the show exists, so hopefully something will be on youtube soon.

I really had that…

Holy crap, Brooks posted on the OFP blog!  This is the first instance of someone other than myself posting to any OFP-related site… love it!!

Considering we have an entire song devoted to the awful effects of the Internet and technology on humans, I am acutely aware of the incongruity of setting up another online home for OFP. We would love for people to become aware of us without any online presence at all, but that’s hardly realistic…

I actually put a few minutes of effort into writing the introductory post to the Office of Future Plans blog just now.

I can’t believe I forgot to post the Office of Future Plans DCist interview here.  Click the link for thoughts on rock history from yours truly, the definition of “Balti-tour”, and an epic rant from J. Robbins about the state of DC musical institutions.

musical goings-on

Today, on the way in to work, I listened to the mixes for the new woodworkings solo album, which features my cello on four of the eight songs.  It was a beautiful way to start the week (and I’m not just saying that because I’m on it!).  I’m excited for it to come out.

(Listen to a previous woodworkings release, also with my cello, here: http://woodworkings.bandcamp.com/)

I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing musicians and creators right now.  Kyle (woodworkings) and I are recording a split LP that will come out later this year.  Office Of Future Plans will be recording soon.  We All Inherit The Moon will be recording this summer.  Over the next three months I have other cello sessions lined up with Bells (Zach from Jawbox’s new band), The Pauses, Jeff Dean, and maybe even Boston Spaceships (Robert Pollard’s new band)!  So much good music.

Find what you love and surround yourself with it, kids. Don’t stop until you’re totally immersed.
