I’m arranging some Jawbreaker songs for cello, to be possibly included in a documentary about the band. As I record songs this weekend, I’ll post rough mixes as Soundcloud files for comments and feedback. Follow here, or at Soundcloud, or on Twitter.
I’ve decided to run a summer special on cello recording… $100 for cello tracks on your song (normally $150), or $250 for a full-on cello cover of your song or someone else’s (normally $500). The beginning of the end. We have 1 more day left of cramming to get all the squares of the big board filled in. It’s starting to look like a pretty one-sided game of Tic-Tac-Toe (or Hollywood Squares for the less analogy crowd). Gordon Withers dropped by last night and knocked out the Whoopie…
I make another appearance in The Pauses’s Record-O-Blog! The session was a lot of fun, and I predict that these kids are gonna be huge. They are making a fine, fine album which you will love. I can’t wait to hear the final product!
Today, on the way in to work, I listened to the mixes for the new woodworkings solo album, which features my cello on four of the eight songs. It was a beautiful way to start the week (and I’m not just saying that because I’m on it!). I’m excited for it to come out.

I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing musicians and creators right now. Kyle (woodworkings) and I are recording a split LP that will come out later this year. Office Of Future Plans will be recording soon. We All Inherit The Moon will be recording this summer. Over the next three months I have other cello sessions lined up with Bells (Zach from Jawbox’s new band), The Pauses, Jeff Dean, and maybe even Boston Spaceships (Robert Pollard’s new band)! So much good music.
Find what you love and surround yourself with it, kids. Don’t stop until you’re totally immersed.
